Scientists probe link between heart fat and heart failure
NCT ID NCT05068934
Summary
This study aimed to understand if the thickness of fat around the heart is related to how well the heart functions in people with a common type of heart failure called HFpEF. Researchers observed over 1,000 adult patients with HFpEF to see if measuring this 'epicardial fat' could serve as a useful indicator of heart function problems. The goal was to gather knowledge, not to test a new treatment.
