Tiny heart shunt aims to ease strain for millions with heart failure

Summary
This trial is testing a small, permanently implanted device called the Corvia Atrial Shunt. It is designed for people with a specific type of heart failure where the heart pumps normally but is too stiff to fill properly. The device creates a small opening between the heart's upper chambers to relieve pressure, with the goal of reducing hospital visits and improving patients' quality of life. Participants are randomly assigned to receive either the real implant or a sham procedure and are followed for five years.
