Simple Finger-Prick test could spot hidden heart failure in thousands

NCT ID NCT07320677

Summary

This study is testing whether a simple blood test can help doctors find heart failure earlier in people who take common water pills (like furosemide) but haven't been diagnosed with the condition. Researchers will enroll 400 adults from primary care clinics, randomly assigning whole clinics to either offer the blood test or continue with usual care. The main goal is to see if this screening approach leads to more heart failure diagnoses within a year and also uncovers other heart problems like irregular heartbeats.
