Heart failure breakthrough: could less medicine be better?
NCT ID NCT07513883
First seen Apr 09, 2026 · Last updated Jun 10, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looks at people whose heart failure has improved so much that their heart function seems normal again. Right now, guidelines say they must keep taking four different heart medicines for life, but it's not clear if all are still needed. Researchers will compare continuing all four medicines versus slowly reducing to just two, to see if the heart stays healthy and if patients avoid side effects and high costs. The goal is to find out if taking fewer drugs is safe and works just as well.
