New hope to stop heart failure before it starts
NCT ID NCT06055452
Summary
This study is testing if a drug called empagliflozin can help prevent heart failure in people who have high blood pressure and are at high risk for heart problems, but do not have diabetes. About 120 participants will be randomly assigned to take either the drug or a placebo pill daily for six months. Researchers will use heart scans and blood tests to see if the drug improves heart structure and function.
