Implanted monitor aims to keep heart failure patients out of hospital

NCT ID NCT02729922

Summary

This study created a registry to track the real-world results of patients who received an FDA-approved, implantable heart monitor called CardioMEMS. The device wirelessly sends daily lung pressure readings to doctors, who can then adjust medications to help prevent fluid buildup and hospital visits. The goal was to see if using this monitor in regular care helps reduce hospitalizations and improves quality of life for people with moderate heart failure.
