New drug duo aims to ease strain on failing hearts and lungs

NCT ID NCT07147114

Summary

This study is testing if adding the drug macitentan to a standard heart failure drug (dapagliflozin) works better for patients who have a specific type of heart failure combined with high blood pressure in the lungs. About 64 participants will be randomly assigned to take either the two-drug combination or dapagliflozin with a placebo for 24 weeks. Researchers will check if the combination helps patients walk farther, improves lab tests related to heart strain, and boosts quality of life.
