Heart camera showdown: new technology tested for better heart failure imaging

NCT ID NCT02515812

First seen Apr 12, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study tested whether a newer, more compact camera (CZT) works as well as a standard camera for taking pictures of heart nerve activity in people with heart failure. 45 adults with stable heart failure received a special tracer injection to highlight nerve function. The goal was to see if the newer camera gives equally reliable results, which could make future scans faster and more comfortable.
