Simple Talk-Back trick slashes heart failure hospital returns
NCT ID NCT07280208
Summary
This study tested if a better way of teaching patients at hospital discharge could help them manage their heart failure. Researchers used a 'teach-back' method, where patients repeated their care instructions in their own words to ensure they understood. The goal was to improve patients' daily self-care and reduce the chance they would need to return to the hospital within 30 days.
