Scientists probe why heart drugs may work differently for men and women

NCT ID NCT04318145

Summary

This study aimed to understand how a single dose of an experimental drug, PL-3994, affects the hearts of men and women differently in a specific type of heart failure. Researchers gave the drug to a small group of patients and measured heart pressures and a chemical signal inside the heart for 15 minutes. The goal was to gather basic information on how the drug works, not to treat the patients' long-term condition.
