Heart drug tested for structural benefits in Non-Diabetic patients

NCT ID NCT07112274

Summary

This study tested whether empagliflozin, a medication, could improve the structure and function of the heart in non-diabetic patients with a specific type of heart failure. Fifty patients were randomly assigned to receive either empagliflozin or a placebo pill daily for three months. Researchers measured changes in heart size, blood markers of heart stress, and heart function using ultrasound scans to see if the drug helped.
