Heart drug study aims to speed up treatment for weakened hearts
NCT ID NCT06195930
Summary
This study tested whether people with chronic heart failure could safely start taking the medication vericiguat at a higher dose than usual. Researchers wanted to see if starting at 5 mg instead of 2.5 mg would help patients reach the full 10 mg treatment dose faster, potentially improving their heart function sooner. The 4-week study with 106 participants focused on monitoring side effects like low blood pressure and dizziness to ensure the higher starting dose was well-tolerated alongside their regular heart medications.
