New hope for stubborn heart failure swelling?

NCT ID NCT06285760

Summary

This study is testing if adding a drug called acetazolamide helps hospitalized heart failure patients who still have significant fluid buildup despite receiving standard diuretic medications. Researchers will measure how much extra salt and fluid patients' bodies release over 24-48 hours after receiving the added drug. The goal is to find better ways to manage dangerous fluid overload during a heart failure hospitalization.
