Your own cells to heal your heart? major trial tests revolutionary treatment
NCT ID NCT02438306
Summary
This large, completed Phase 3 trial tested whether a treatment using a patient's own bone marrow cells could help people with chronic heart failure caused by a prior heart attack. The study compared the cell therapy, injected directly into the heart, against a sham procedure to see if it could reduce major heart problems and improve how far patients could walk. It aimed to provide strong evidence for a new treatment option for this serious, long-term condition.
