Heart rhythm battle: procedure vs. pills for double heart trouble

NCT ID NCT07272902

Summary

This pilot study is comparing two common treatment approaches for people who have both atrial fibrillation (an irregular heartbeat) and heart failure with preserved heart function. Participants will be randomly assigned to either have a catheter ablation procedure to try to restore normal rhythm or to take medications to simply control the heart rate. The main goal of this small study is to see if it's practical to run a much larger trial to find out which approach is better at helping people live longer, stay out of the hospital, and feel better.
