Scientists test new pill to ease strain on thickened hearts
NCT ID NCT04219826
Summary
This study tested a new oral drug called aficamten (CK-3773274) in adults with symptomatic hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), a condition where the heart muscle thickens and can't pump blood well. The main goal was to find safe and tolerable doses and see how the drug is processed by the body. Researchers also measured how different doses affected pressure inside the heart over a 10-week treatment period.
