New hope for Women's hearts after pregnancy complication

NCT ID NCT07238400

Summary

This study aims to see if the medication eplerenone improves heart blood flow and structure better than the medication chlorthalidone in women who had preeclampsia during pregnancy and now have ongoing high blood pressure. About 90 participants will take one of the two study drugs daily for 48 weeks while researchers measure their heart function with scans and ultrasounds. The goal is to find a better long-term treatment strategy to reduce future heart disease risk in this specific group of women.
