New heart drug trial aims to reverse dangerous heart thickening
NCT ID NCT07270367
Summary
This study is testing whether adding the drug finerenone to standard heart failure care can improve the heart's structure and function in people at risk for heart and kidney problems. About 156 participants with a thickened heart muscle will take either finerenone or a placebo pill daily for one year while having heart scans to measure changes. The goal is to see if the drug can help reverse harmful heart remodeling and improve long-term health.
