Heart plug showdown: which device better stops strokes?

NCT ID NCT07260474

Summary

This study aims to compare two different heart devices used to prevent strokes in people with a common heart rhythm problem called atrial fibrillation. The participants are at high risk for both strokes and serious bleeding, making long-term blood thinners a poor option. Doctors will randomly assign 200 people to receive one of the two devices, which are implanted to seal off a small pouch in the heart where clots often form, and then track their results for 90 days.
