Heart implant could end painful bleeding for cancer survivors

NCT ID NCT04701749

Summary

This study is testing if a small heart implant can safely replace blood thinners to reduce severe, recurring bladder bleeding. It focuses on prostate cancer survivors who have a heart rhythm problem (atrial fibrillation) and suffer from bleeding caused by past radiation therapy. Researchers will track if the implant, which allows patients to stop blood thinners, leads to fewer bleeding episodes and hospital visits over three years.
