Scientists track why heart defects in babies often lead to learning challenges

Summary
This study aims to understand why over half of babies born with serious heart defects later develop learning, thinking, or movement difficulties. Researchers will follow 450 infants from before birth to 6 months old, checking for early signs of developmental delays. They will look at many factors like genetics, the mother's health during pregnancy, and details of the baby's heart surgery to find what might increase the risk of these challenges.
