New computer model could replace stressful heart tests with a simple CT scan

NCT ID NCT06337461

First seen Feb 03, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study aims to develop a computer model that can predict how well blood flows to the heart muscle during stress, using only a standard CT scan. Currently, patients with chronic coronary syndrome often need a stress test with extra radiation and medication. The researchers will analyze CT images from 400 participants to build a model that may eliminate the need for that stress test. The goal is to make heart disease assessment safer and more accessible.
