Doctors test bubbles to pinpoint heart catheters

NCT ID NCT06243445

Summary

This study tested a method to check if a central line catheter is in the right spot in the heart. Researchers injected a small, safe bubble solution into the catheter and used an ultrasound on the chest to see how long it took for the bubbles to appear in the heart. They did this in 22 patients having heart surgery to see if the timing could tell them exactly where the catheter tip was located.
