Major heart study tests best fix for total artery blockages

Summary
This large international trial is testing whether a stent procedure or medication is better for people with a completely blocked heart artery. It will enroll 1,560 people who have had the blockage for a long time and have reduced blood flow to the heart muscle. The study aims to see if the procedure prevents more heart attacks and strokes than medication alone, and if it improves patients' quality of life.
