New 'Leave nothing Behind' heart attack treatment challenges standard stents

NCT ID NCT06742125

Summary

This study is testing if a newer, 'leave-nothing-behind' treatment using a drug-coated balloon is as safe and effective as the standard drug-eluting stent for people having a major heart attack (STEMI). It will enroll about 1,244 patients across China who are having emergency heart procedures. The main goal is to see if the balloon treatment leads to similar rates of death, repeat heart attacks, strokes, or need for more procedures within a year.
