Scientists hunt for clues to predict heart failure after major heart attacks
NCT ID NCT03070496
Summary
This study aimed to find new markers in blood tests and heart scans that could better predict a patient's recovery and long-term risk of heart failure after a severe type of heart attack (STEMI). Researchers followed 281 patients who had a heart attack and received emergency treatment to open their blocked artery. They collected detailed health data, blood samples, and heart imaging over time to understand what factors lead to better or worse outcomes.
