First seen Jan 26, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looked at whether having a 'patient partner' (a trained fellow heart patient) along with a healthcare professional can help people who had a heart attack stay physically active 6 months after cardiac rehab. 84 adults who completed phase 2 rehab were randomly assigned to either usual care or the extra support program. Their activity was measured with an accelerometer to get accurate results.
