First seen Apr 15, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study tests whether a proactive heart disease prevention plan, with or without a coronary calcium scan, can prevent major heart problems like heart attacks, strokes, and death. It involves about 5,700 adults aged 50-80 (men) or 60-80 (women) who have no known heart disease but are at moderate risk. The goal is to see if these strategies work better than standard care.
