New drug duo aims to shield fragile hearts after hip breaks

NCT ID NCT07228663

Summary

This study is testing if taking two common blood-thinning medications together for 90 days is better than the standard 30-day treatment at preventing heart attacks, strokes, and dangerous blood clots in patients who have just had hip fracture surgery and show signs of heart injury. It will involve 100 patients aged 45 and older. The main goal of this pilot study is to see if a larger, definitive trial is feasible by checking how many patients can be recruited and if they can stick to the treatment plan.
