Diabetes drugs tested as new weapon against heart attack damage
NCT ID NCT07295223
Summary
This study is testing whether two common diabetes medications, dapagliflozin and semaglutide, can help reduce harmful inflammation in the body after a major heart attack (STEMI). It will involve 44 adults who have just had a heart attack and have signs of high inflammation. Researchers will measure specific inflammation markers in the blood at the start and again after 24 weeks of taking one of the medications to see if the drugs make a difference.
