Can a cholesterol drug prevent future heart attacks?

NCT ID NCT06740552

Summary

This study looked at whether the drug evolocumab could reduce the risk of future major heart problems in people who had a heart attack and had multiple blocked arteries. Researchers followed 1,862 patients for two years to see if the drug lowered risks like another heart attack, stroke, or heart failure hospitalization. This was an observational study that analyzed data from patients who had one blocked artery treated but left other narrowed arteries untreated.
