Real-World heart attack drug safety check: does switching blood thinners increase bleeding risk?

NCT ID NCT04471870

Summary

This study monitored 1005 heart attack patients who received artery-opening procedures to understand the safety of switching from an intravenous blood thinner (cangrelor) to oral blood thinners (clopidogrel, prasugrel, or ticagrelor). Researchers tracked patients for 30 days after their procedure to measure bleeding complications and other heart-related problems. The goal was to gather real-world safety information about this common medication transition in routine hospital practice.
