Common scan may unlock heart mystery in rare disease
NCT ID NCT05103943
Summary
This study aims to see if a widely available heart scan (SPECT) can accurately measure blood flow problems in patients with a rare heart condition called TTR amyloid cardiomyopathy. Researchers will enroll 50 patients already planning to take the medication Tafamidis to see if the scan can detect changes in heart blood flow over 24 months. The goal is to find a simpler way to understand and monitor this complex disease.
