First seen Mar 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests a new method to treat H. pylori infection during an upper endoscopy (stomach scope). Doctors fill the stomach with a saltwater solution and treat it with a special gas (argon plasma) to create a bacteria-killing liquid. The goal is to reduce or eliminate H. pylori bacteria. About 20 adults with untreated H. pylori will be enrolled. The study compares two ways of making the bacteria-killing liquid. All participants will also receive standard antibiotics after the procedure.
