Can a phone call from the ER help you quit smoking or eat better?

NCT ID NCT06077565

Summary

This study tested whether a support program could help people seen in the emergency department quit unhealthy habits. 572 adult patients with at least one risky behavior (like smoking or poor diet) received either standard advice or a more involved program. The program included a coaching phone call and follow-up text messages over 6 months to help them set and meet personal health goals.
