First seen Dec 12, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tested whether a general health-promotion program could help adults who visited the emergency department change unhealthy behaviors like smoking, drinking, poor diet, or lack of exercise. Over 500 participants were split into two groups: one received the program, the other did not. Researchers then checked if the program helped people quit at least one bad habit and feel better after 6 and 12 months.
