Head and neck cancer trial tests if less frequent chemo doses reduce harsh side effects

NCT ID NCT02994069

Summary

This study is testing two different schedules for giving the chemotherapy drug cisplatin alongside radiation for head and neck cancer. It aims to see if getting the drug once every three weeks causes fewer severe side effects than getting it weekly, while still being effective at controlling the cancer. The trial will also check if certain markers in the body can predict who is more likely to experience these side effects.
