Cancer trial aims to cut harsh treatment side effects
NCT ID NCT02918955
Summary
This study compared two standard treatment approaches for advanced head and neck cancer that had spread to lymph nodes. It tested whether performing neck surgery before combined chemotherapy and radiation could reduce severe treatment side effects and improve quality of life, without harming survival chances. The trial involved 65 patients and directly compared outcomes between the two strategies.
