New drug joins fight against tough head and neck cancers

NCT ID NCT05172245

Summary

This early-stage study is testing whether adding a new oral drug called ipatasertib to the standard treatment of chemotherapy plus radiation is safe and more effective for people with locally advanced head and neck cancer. The main goal is to find the safest and most effective dose of ipatasertib to use alongside the standard treatment. Researchers will enroll about 46 adults who have not yet received treatment for their advanced cancer.
