New Two-Drug combo tested to fight advanced head and neck cancer

Summary
This study tested whether adding an experimental drug (tiragolumab) to an existing immunotherapy (atezolizumab) works better than the immunotherapy alone for people with advanced head and neck cancer that has returned or spread. It involved 123 adults whose cancer had a specific marker (PD-L1 positive) and who had not yet received drug treatment for their advanced disease. The main goal was to see if the two-drug combination led to more tumors shrinking compared to the single drug.
