Cancer trial aims to reduce harsh radiation side effects
NCT ID NCT02442375
Summary
This study tested whether using lower radiation doses to healthy neck lymph nodes could reduce long-term side effects while still preventing cancer recurrence. It involved 300 adults with head and neck cancer who were scheduled for curative radiation treatment. Researchers compared standard radiation doses to reduced doses, monitoring both side effects and cancer control outcomes.
