Could this study end unnecessary brain scans for millions?
NCT ID NCT03687528
Summary
This study aims to find out if patients taking common blood-thinning medications (like aspirin or clopidogrel) who have minor head injuries but no other symptoms actually need a CT scan. Currently, many emergency rooms automatically order CT scans for these patients, which can be costly and expose people to radiation. The research will follow 3,200 patients to see if skipping the scan is safe when no other warning signs are present.
