Summary

This study is testing whether hearts from donors who have hepatitis C can be safely transplanted into patients who do not have the virus. The goal is to expand the pool of available donor hearts for people with severe heart failure. After transplant, patients receive antiviral medication to try to prevent or treat any hepatitis C infection that might be transmitted from the donor.
