Scientists hunt for Mother's immune clues to protect unborn babies from virus

NCT ID NCT07477925

Summary

This study aims to understand why a common virus (HCMV) sometimes passes from a pregnant woman to her unborn baby, which can cause serious health problems. Researchers will study the immune systems of 90 pregnant women who recently got the virus to find specific signs in their blood that predict this risk. The goal is to develop a future test to identify high-risk pregnancies and help design better vaccines.
