Massive 5,000-Person study tracks hepatitis B's hidden effects over time
NCT ID NCT07137247
Summary
This is a long-term observational study aiming to understand how the immune system changes as people with chronic Hepatitis B (HBV) get older and the infection progresses. It will follow 5,000 untreated patients, aged 1 to 80, checking their blood every six months to measure virus levels and immune cell activity. The goal is to gather knowledge about the disease's natural course to inform future treatments, not to test a new therapy.
