Can simple hand exercises boost badminton performance?
NCT ID NCT07438522
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares two types of hand strengthening exercises—isometric (holding a position) and isotonic (moving through a range)—in 32 competitive female badminton players aged 18-30. Over six weeks, participants will do the exercises three times a week. Researchers will measure changes in hand function, dexterity, grip strength, and endurance using standard tests. The goal is to find out which exercise type works better for improving athletic performance and possibly preventing hand injuries.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
hand strengthening exercises (isometric and isotonic programs)
What this could lead to
If successful, this could show which type of hand exercise best improves grip and dexterity for badminton athletes, potentially reducing injury risk.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 32 participants, so results may not apply broadly. The exercises are simple and unlikely to cause harm, but benefits may be modest.
