Electric hand therapy shows promise for stroke recovery in small pilot study
NCT ID NCT04992910
First seen May 29, 2026 · Last updated Jun 08, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested whether a device that uses mild electrical pulses to help move the hand (called multi-field FES) is safe and easy to use for people recovering from a stroke. Sixteen adults with arm weakness after a stroke took part. One group used the FES device during hand exercises, while the other group received standard rehab. The main goal was to see if the device was practical and acceptable, not to prove it works better than usual care.
