Scientists hunt for early warning signs of crippling hand arthritis

NCT ID NCT03650673

Summary

This study aims to understand how hand osteoarthritis starts and progresses. Researchers will follow 150 patients with early-stage hand arthritis, using imaging like MRI and ultrasound to look for signs that predict which joints will get worse. The goal is to identify patients at high risk for rapid joint damage before it becomes severe and debilitating.
