Squeeze for answers: hand grip strength may reveal clues in pancreatic cancer

NCT ID NCT07255001

First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study will test if measuring hand grip strength during clinic visits is practical and useful for adults with pancreatic cancer. Fifty participants will squeeze a handheld device and fill out well-being questionnaires alongside their regular care. Researchers want to see if changes in grip strength relate to body composition, quality of life, or how the tumor responds to treatment.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this could show that a simple hand grip test helps doctors track how pancreatic cancer patients are doing during treatment.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early observational study, not testing a treatment. It may not find clear links between grip strength and outcomes.
