Researchers test new way to measure Kids' hand function after birth injury
NCT ID NCT07151053
Summary
This study tested a questionnaire called the Duruöz Hand Index to see if it's a good tool for measuring hand function in children with a nerve injury from birth (obstetric brachial plexus palsy). Researchers worked with 21 children, aged 6 to 18, to see how well the questionnaire's results matched up with other standard physical tests of strength and movement. The goal was to find a reliable way to understand how the injury affects a child's ability to use both hands together for daily tasks.
